technique. Left Moscow 1919 for St Petersburg and in 1922 moved to Paris.
Danced with Ballets Russes in its first season 1909 and until 1928. Also
danced in Anna Pavlova's company 1925-26.
After a nervous collapse in 1930 she lived in obscurity.

Vera Trefilova
Born in Vladikavkaz in 1875, she became prima ballerina of Mariinsky Theatre
in 1906. She was a perfect classical ballerina and virtuoso. In 1917 she
resigned from Mariinsky and left Russia for Paris where she joined Ballets
Russes and started a ballet school.
